When a car makes more sense than the train
Tolworth has its own station, and Surbiton's fast trains reach Waterloo in under twenty minutes, so for a quick trip into town the train often wins. A car is the better choice when:
- you're heading to a terminal other than Waterloo, which would mean changing onto the Underground with luggage
- you're travelling with children, heavy bags or someone who finds stairs difficult
- you're arriving late at night, after trains back to Tolworth have thinned out
- there are three or four of you, when a car can compare well with separate tickets
The Congestion Charge
Several central London terminals, including Waterloo, Victoria, Charing Cross and London Bridge, are inside the Congestion Charge zone, while Paddington is outside it. Ask us how this affects your fare when you book.
Don't miss your train
For a train with a fixed departure, especially a long-distance service or the Eurostar, tell us your departure time when you book and we'll suggest a pickup time that allows for London traffic.
